attorney Arash H. Zabetian

Arash H. Zabetian is a trial attorney and Co-Founder of Harpy Law, where he is extending years of high-level litigation experience into a growing multi-state, nationwide practice. His work centers on complex personal injury, trucking litigation, premises liability, civil rights, and cases involving powerful institutional defendants.

Mr. Zabetian has been involved in trial work since the earliest stages of his legal career, developing a reputation for handling technically demanding, high-exposure cases that require deep preparation and strategic precision. His practice is driven by a clear principle: individuals facing corporations, public entities, or well-funded defendants need counsel with the skill and resolve to meet that challenge head-on.

He earned his law degree cum laude from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. Despite opportunities with large firms, Mr. Zabetian chose to focus his career on representing individuals against institutional defendants, where disciplined preparation and technical command often determine the outcome.

Before entering law, Mr. Zabetian studied computer science and worked in the technology sector. That background continues to shape his litigation style, particularly in cases involving complex systems, data-driven evidence, and expert-heavy defenses. He is known for breaking down technical material and identifying weaknesses in opposing theories.

Over the years, Mr. Zabetian has secured multiple seven- and eight-figure verdicts and settlements, many of which have been recognized among the top results of the year in California. In 2023, he obtained a $22.6 million jury verdict against the City of Los Angeles, the largest premises liability verdict in California that year. The case succeeded on liability theories that had been repeatedly challenged and overlooked, ultimately prevailing through disciplined record development and trial execution.

His civil rights litigation has also drawn national attention. In 2015, The Recorder named one of his police misconduct cases a top-five civil rights result in the United States, and the matter was later covered by The New York Times. These cases reflect his experience litigating under intense legal, factual, and public scrutiny.

Mr. Zabetian has substantial appellate experience and has achieved multiple successful appellate outcomes, including a published appellate opinion. Appellate strategy informs his cases from the outset, with careful attention to preserving legal theories capable of withstanding review.

In addition to legal analysis, Mr. Zabetian devotes significant effort to mastering the scientific and technical disciplines involved in his cases, including medicine and multiple engineering fields. His ability to absorb complex information and challenge expert testimony is a defining aspect of his advocacy. He approaches every case by aligning legal strategy with the client’s real-world circumstances and long-term needs.

Mr. Zabetian has been recognized by his peers as a Super Lawyers honoree since 2016, first as a Rising Star and, beginning in 2025, as a Super Lawyer.

As Co-Founder of Harpy Law, Mr. Zabetian is expanding his litigation practice beyond California, helping build a nationwide firm focused on serious injury, civil rights, and complex trial matters across multiple jurisdictions.
